Improving processes at Dyson

The Dyson story is well known. James Dyson persevered against the odds to engineer a radically different vacuum cleaner technology. In May 1993, after fifteen years and 5,127 prototypes, James finally began production under his own name. Eighteen months later, the DCO1 was the best selling machine in the UK.

Today Dyson machines can be found in more than 40 countries. The growth has created the demand for talented people to work in many different teams in the UK and around the world.

Selecting and assessing talent to work within Dyson presents many challenges. The founding ethos of passion and innovation is very much alive and all roles require the right mix of competence, culture-fit and personality. The business has called on Academy's assessment expertise to identify these qualities in its prospective candidates. Academy have introduced new selection processes, testing instruments and assessment exercises and are advising on the best solutions to suit the circumstances of each vacancy.

"Academy are knowledgeable, innovative and straight talking. The Academy team has introduced us to some new ideas and approaches, which are proving invaluable in helping us to attract and select the right people to Dyson."
