Sun Chemical is the world’s largest producer of printing inks and chemicals. In recent times,they have grown significantly both organically and through acquisition. Academy were asked to design and deliver a new selection process focussing on the specific behaviours and competencies required in production management roles. At the 1st stage Academy worked with senior managers to analyse the characteristics required in successful production managers.The output was then used as the basis of a new assessment process.This included pre screening interviews, and a full assessment centre process including relevant ability tests, personality profiling, a group exercise, presentations, and a structured interview.
Initially this process was used to recruit Work Group and Operations Managers, but has now been rolled out for other roles within the business.
